As a registered psychologist and compassionate counsellor it's important to me to understand what you seek help for. I have many years of experience listening and working with people from all walks of life. About 20 years ago, I've migrated to Australia from Germany and my training is anchored in both countries. Over the years, living in a place that is not my country of birth has been challenging and also most interesting, leading me into avenues I would not have considered many years ago. Certainly, my personal experiences and challenges have made my life richer and more interesting. This also reflects in my work with clients. Although my training comprises a number of therapeutic and supportive approaches I mainly work with a model called 'Acceptance and Commitment Therapy'. It is based on the idea that we live an interesting and meaningful life if we are able to identify what is important to us personally and what sort of actions are we willing to take to live a meaningful life. Of course, this does not mean that life will always be smooth sailing. It is just part of the human condition to experience emotionally, mentally and physically difficult times in life. Working with you to go through these transition periods I will also assist you to learn skills that allow you to make useful and appropriate decisions for your life to move forward.
